Experience of Belarusian land legislation possibly useful for Kazakhstan

VITEBSK, 11 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian experience of land legislation can be useful for Kazakhstan. The statement was made by Chairman of the Agrarian Affairs Committee of the Kazakhstan parliament Romin Madinov on 11 July, BelTA has learned.

A delegation of the Agrarian Affairs Committee of the Kazakhstan parliament visited Vitebsk on that day. “Now Belarus and Kazakhstan are in the same Eurasian economic space. Our job is to establish as many ties as possible, including economic and cultural ties, between our countries,” noted Romin Madinov.

The representative of the Kazakhstan parliament underlined that they are interested in Belarusian lawmaking practices. “We are legislators. Our main job is to draft bills, this is why we study your experience, share our own practices. Later on the efforts are supposed to make our economies more effective,” said the MP.

The MP underlined that Kazakhstan is primarily interested in Belarus’ experience in the area of land legislation. “On the one hand, you take good care of the lands while on the other hand you crack down on unlawful land usage. It is extremely important for us. We will see how we can adapt your practices considering the fact that there is private land ownership in Kazakhstan and none of that in Belarus,” said Romin Madinov. “We see that as far as agriculture is concerned, Belarus is ahead of us in terms of pace. The type of ownership may not be the issue here. A correct legislative approach to the matter probably is.”

The delegation of the Kazakhstan parliament met with top officials of the Vitebsk Oblast administration on 11 July. While in Vitebsk Oblast Kazakh MPs were also expected to visit several agricultural enterprises.
