MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) – The first copy of the fifth edition of the Red Data Book of Belarus, presented today at the National Library, will take pride of place in the Palace of Independence, said Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont, who was given the first copy to deliver it to the head of state, BelTA has learned.
“I am happy and grateful to receive this book, which I will present to the head of state. I am confident it will take pride of place in the Palace of Independence. This moment is both symbolic and fitting, because the Year of Improvement is coming to an end, yet we know the work will naturally continue. Every guest who visits our country calls it beautiful, well kept, and clean. We already accept such praise with a smile, as something expected, but a reputation like this does not arise on its own. It is built only through the collective efforts of all of us, the people of Belarus,” Natalya Eismont emphasized.
“I must also highlight the attitude of our president, Aleksandr Lukashenko, toward his Motherland, its nature, and all living things. Much has been said about his attachment to his hometown, yet he shows the same care for every corner of Belarus. The president is constantly traveling, and he sees the issues of the whole country as if they were in the palm of his hand. He always identifies areas for improvement and consistently knows what more can be done,” the press secretary said.

“Numerous foreign guests and Belarusians who come to the Palace of Independence will now see the new edition of the Red Data Book displayed in a central, honored place,” Natalya Eismont remarked. “It will serve as yet another reminder of what we must safeguard,” she concluded.
The first copy of the fifth edition of the Red Data Book was also handed over to the National Library of Belarus.
