Draft Tax Code might be submitted to Belarusian MPs in September

Draft Tax Code might be submitted to Belarusian MPs in September

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs expect to receive the draft Tax Code in September, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk told reporters on 9 August, BelTA has learned.

“We have not received the Tax Code yet, however the government is finishing the work on the document. I believe we will get it in September. It will be followed by an entire package of budget-related bills for 2019. These are very important, fundamental documents,” Boleslav Pirshtuk noted.

He added that the draft Tax Code is the most debated document in the society. Everyone wants tax cuts; however, at first MPs need to find mechanisms to refill the budget. “We are set to boost the country’s budget and GDP. We need to come up with solutions to improve our economic capacities. As soon as we fulfill this task and secure sustainable growth, it will be easier to pass bills related to social matters,” the vice speaker said.

Talking about SMEs, Boleslav Pirshtuk noted that the legislation is overloaded with monitoring and control activities. “Everyone, in particular the business community, agrees that this matter should be streamlined as much as possible. We need to make laws understandable, transparent and risk-free for businesses. We need to dramatically improve terms for business operation,” he concluded.
