Diplomat of Belarusian embassy in Russia comments on cooperation with Belarusians abroad

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – The eighth congress of the public organization Federal National and Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians of Russia took place in the Moscow House of Nationalities. Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia Darya Shmanai took part in it, the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia told BelTA.

Darya Shmanai remarked that the Federal National and Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians of Russia is a unique and living organism while the organization of the congress is an excellent opportunity to mobilize resources, compare notes, share experience for the sake of launching future projects. “I’d like to express gratitude to members of the Advisory Council for Belarusians Abroad under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, who are also representatives of the autonomy. I thank them for their active civil stance, for the time and the opportunity to be immersed in a complicated process of strategic importance for addressing topical issues relating to the enhancement of the partnership between the state and the Belarusians, who live outside their native country. This congress will become a stimulus for active cooperation and joint work on new projects. Let’s remember that we are part of a large Belarusian nation. And although we are far from our native country, we should not forget about the roots that connect us with each other. Our common task is to preserve and multiply our legacy of many centuries, pass it on to future generations, reinforce interethnic ties and friendship, maintain the atmosphere of brotherhood and mutual respect, and be proud of who we are,” the diplomat noted.

The chairperson of the Federal National and Cultural Autonomy of Belarusians of Russia, members of the autonomy’s Council and the autonomy’s Review Board were elected during the event. Amendments were passed to the autonomy’s charter. Reports on performance in 2020-2025 were presented.
