“A special recreation and recuperation program was devised for Syrian kids to help them make friends with our children and learn more about the Belarusian education system in general. The guests visited the leading Belarusian universities, the National Olympic Committee, the cultural and sports center Minsk Arena, Minsk Automobile Plant, BelAZ, and also our museums. They are also scheduled to visit the Belarusian nuclear power plant. They are getting familiarized with our country. They are lucky to have come here in winter. Everything is in place for their recreation and recuperation,” Vasily Zharko remarked.

A group of 144 children from Syria went on recuperation holidays to the national children’s educational and health center Zubryonok. All of them are leaders in education, sports, and art. Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko and Education Minister Igor Karpenko came in to visit them on 24 January.

During the meeting, Belarusian and Syrian kids asked questions to the officials. The guests showed interest in getting higher education at Belarusian universities, taking part in joint Olympiads and sports events.

The Belarusian children, in turn, asked Vasily Zharko and Igor Karpenko to write their wishes on paper figures of storks. At the end of the holidays, they will be presented to the Syrian guests. At the end of the meeting the kids received sweet boxes.
