MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – The Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Belarus will highlight the shared historical memory of the two peoples, Belarus Culture Minister Yuri Bondar said at the plenary meeting Historical, Cultural, and Spiritual Unity of the Belarusian and Russian Peoples in the House of Moscow in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“The project the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Belarus of Russia’s Ministry of Culture is of great significance,” Yuri Bondar said. “All activities in the program of the event will highlight our shared historical memory.”

The relationship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia is truly brotherly thanks to a lot of reasons: common Slavic roots, a thousand years of good neighborly relations, cooperation, and mutual help, traditions that are based on similar moral and ethical values, and shared historical memory which unites the two peoples, Yuri Bondar said.

“This year we marked two historical milestones – the 75th anniversary of lifting the siege of Leningrad and Belarus' liberation. Next year we will stand united as we celebrate the date every person holds sacred and dear – the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory,” Yuri Bondar said. He wished participants of the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Belarus fruitful work, success, and a pleasant stay in Belarus.
