Cui Qiming hails Belarus-China cultural cooperation

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – The number of Belarusian-Chinese cultural projects has considerably increased in the recent years, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said at the opening ceremony of the Chinese Film Festival in Minsk on 23 November, BelTA informs.

According to the diplomat, the embassy organizes Days of Chinese Cinema that have become a traditional event in Belarus. The Ambassador believes that it promotes better mutual understanding between the two nations and strengthening of the Belarusian-Chinese cultural ties.

Talking about the Belarusian-Chinese relations in general, Cui Qiming stressed: “Over 23 years of diplomatic relations Belarus and China have reached great results. The visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Belarus was a success and was of a huge historical importance. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko paid a visit to China in September and took part in the events to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese people over the aggressors.”

According to the diplomat, the exchange of visits gives new opportunities for mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation. Cui Qiming added that this year which saw the exchange of visits between the leaders of the two states has been marked by active Belarusian-Chinese contacts. In particular, the parties implemented a lot of cultural and educational projects. For instance, among them was the celebration of the Chinese New Year which allowed Belarusians get closer to the national traditions of the country. China’s participation in the international book fair in Minsk was a great success, too. Apart from that, the Belarusian-Chinese government committee of culture held its meeting. The exchange of Culture Days is always an unforgettable event.

“The diversity of cultural ties between our states promotes the strengthening of friendship between Belarus and China,” Cui Qiming said.
