Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce views Great Stone project as successful

BEIJING, 21 September (BelTA) – Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Qian Keming named the development of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone a successful project. The official made the statement at the opening ceremony of the Media Cooperation Forum One Belt, One Road on 21 September, BelTA informs.

Partaking in the event are leading mass media from Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan. The forum has gathered about 170 media representatives from almost 60 countries in Beijing.

The Vice Minister of Commerce noted that China would aim at setting up new joint technoparks and industrial clusters with foreign partners as part of the initiative One Belt, One Road.

According to Qian Keming, the Chinese concept of building up the Silk Road Economic Belt got a positive international feedback. “The Chinese initiative One Belt, One Road is aimed at developing multilateral trade. At the same time the trade and economic cooperation will promote the intensification of the whole range of relations between the Silk Road member states. We will follow the principle of securing the common access of the participating states to the opening bonuses and benefits. It will make an important condition for enhancing the attractiveness of the One Belt, One Road initiative,” he said.

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is a territorial unit with a special legal regime meant to enable comfortable conditions for doing business. The park is located in Smolevichi District, Minsk Oblast 25km away from Minsk in the immediate proximity to an international airport, the railway network, and the transnational motorway Berlin-Moscow.

Belarusian and Chinese experts consider the Industrial Park Great Stone as a promising and strategic project, an important platform for the implementation of the One Belt, One Road initiative.
