Chinese reporter hails Belarus’ ways of establishing friendly relations with other countries

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Belarus is an example of how strong and friendly relations with other countries should be established, BelTA learned from Yuan Baoguo, a reporter of the Shandong television and radio company, after Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with representatives of Chinese central and regional mass media as part of their media trip to Belarus.

Yuan Baoguo said: “Your president knows China very well and is aware of accomplishments in China’s development. He talked about Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in a very precise and comprehensive manner. Alexander Lukashenko is a very good friend of our country because solid cooperation has been established between Belarus and China. We should appreciate it and promote it because such kind and good relations between states are very important for their nations. We should follow your example, the example of your president in establishing strong and friendly relations between countries.”

About 40 reporters from China’s largest mass media met with Alexander Lukashenko on 4 May. The mass media included the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the newspapers People's Daily and China Daily, the China Central Television, and a number of other printed mass media, online media, and television companies.

Alexander Lukashenko spoke in detail about the advancement of Belarusian-Chinese relations, the projects Belarus and China are implementing together, and prospects of cooperation in various spheres. Close attention was paid to the establishment of interregional cooperation and Belarus’ participation in the Silk Road Economic Belt project. Alexander Lukashenko also gave sincere answers to questions about his personal relations with the president of China and the forthcoming visit to Beijing where Alexander Lukashenko is expected to participate in the One Belt, One Road summit.

The first major media trip to Belarus for Chinese reporters, who represent ten provinces of China, is scheduled for 1-7 May. So far participants of the media trip have been to the Mound of Glory memorial, the BelGee car factory and the Belarusian automobile factory BelAZ, the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, the Hi-Tech Park, the agricultural company Ozeritsky-Agro, the food company Babushkina Krynka, and several other famous Belarusian manufacturers.

After meeting with the Belarusian head of state the Chinese reporters are expected to visit other cultural and social places and enterprises.
