China views cooperation with Belarus as model to follow

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) - Cooperation with Belarus is a model to follow for China, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said at a roundtable panel held on 1 November to discuss the results of the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat noted that the decisions taken at the congress would have an impact on the further cooperation with Belarus. He stressed that the three most important amendments introduced to the charter of the Communist Party of China are related to the construction of new international relations. “The prospects of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation, which was raised by the leaders of Belarus and China to a new higher level last year, are wide,” said Cui Qiming.

The ambassador took note of an important role that the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone plays in a wide range of bilateral cooperation.

Chairperson of the Board of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries Nina Ivanova also emphasized the importance of the cooperation prospects with Belarus that were outlined at the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Dean of the Economic Department at the Belarusian State University, Doctor of Physics and Mathematical Sciences Mikhail Kovalev said that the Chinese economy has recently joined the list of world leaders and has been confidently advancing forward.

Director of the Institute of Journalism of the Belarusian State University, Candidate of Philological Sciences Sergei Dubovik spoke about the expansion of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in education and the student exchange program in particular.

BelTA’s journalist, Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarus-China Friendship Society Alina Grishkevich also shared her impressions of the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China as part of the international media delegation which comprised representatives of 134 states.

The event was organized by the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries jointly with the Chinese embassy in Belarus and the Belarus-China Friendship Society. Taking part in the event were representatives of scientific and educational circles, public organizations.
