China International Import Expo in Shanghai to feature Belarusian-Chinese forum

MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese forum will be held during the 1st China International Import Expo due in Shanghai on 5-10 November, Valery Sadokho, Director of the National Center for Marketing at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a press conference on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

According to Valery Sadokho, the Belarusian-Chinese forum will be aimed at promoting Belarusian goods in the Asian market. The opening ceremony of the forum will be attended by Deputy Head of Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov, representatives of Belarusian ministries and the Chinese Commerce Ministry.

In particular, the forum will feature the sections “Belarus’ export and innovative potential”, “A favorable investment climate in Belarus is the key to successful partnership”, “Attractiveness of Belarus’ tourist, education and medical services”. About 80 Belarusian enterprises and over 200 Chinese companies have been invited to take part in the forum.

The China International Import Expo will feature about 300 country forums, business matchmaking sessions, product presentations, conferences and seminars. The National Center for Marketing at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Bank of China will organize the participation of Belarusian enterprises in the International Transboundary Conference, which will help establish direct contacts with pre-selected Chinese importing companies.

Valery Sadokho stressed that the Belarusian-Chinese dialogue has gathered momentum recently as the two countries share similar views on topical international issues. This, in turn, provides the basis for closer trade and economic cooperation between the countries. The China International Import Expo is a unique opportunity for Belarus to establish useful business contacts and show itself as a reliable partner. The forum will help Belarusian enterprises expand export geography and boost trade not only with China but also with other countries participating in the expo.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the world's largest single block building and exhibition complex. The number of domestic and foreign buyers is projected to reach 150,000. The National Center for Marketing at Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the organizer of the Belarusian national exposition which will consist of two thematic blocks. The national pavilion will occupy the area of 136 m2, and Belarusian enterprises will be allocated 642 m2 of exhibition space.
