Chernik: Belarus-Tajikistan cultural ties strengthen friendship between two nations

DUSHANBE, 19 October (BelTA-Khovar) – Cultural ties between Belarus and Tajikistan fulfill a special mission in strengthening friendship between the two nations, Belarus Deputy Culture Minister Vasily Chernik said during the Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan, BelTA informs.

“Belarus-Tajikistan relations built on a solid foundation of close relations have been gaining momentum. Our joint work is supported by our heads of state Alexander Lukashenko and Emomali Rahmon. Over the years of bilateral cooperation every basis has been created for the implementation of contacts in various cooperation areas. The current Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan is a momentous event that demonstrates mutual sincere interest in cultural achievements of the peoples and mutual intention to strengthen and develop cooperation. It is no doubt that cultural ties between Belarus and Tajikistan fulfill a special mission in strengthening friendship between the two nations,” said Vasily Chernik.

The Days of Belarusian Culture in TajikistanCulture Minister of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda noted that the dialogue of cultures is a formula for establishing cooperation in the political and economic sectors.

“Over the centuries the Belarusian people has developed a rich, diverse and original culture. Belarusian literature has made great headway as well. Numerous works of Belarusian writers and poets have been translated into the Tajik language. It can be said with confidence that the Belarusian nation has made its contribution to the development of other cultures, enriching the world cultural treasury,” stressed Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda.

The Days of Belarusian Culture in TajikistanThe Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan were underway on 15-19 October. The photo exhibition of the BelTA News Agency, entitled Sovereign Belarus: The Era of Achievements, was held in Dushanbe as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Tajikistan. The exhibition featured 26 black and white photos illustrating how the country lived 25-30 years ago and 26 colored stills showing how Belarusians live today. Comparing modern photos with the ones from the archives, the visitors see the progress made by the national industry and agriculture, transport infrastructure, science, medicine, and the Armed Forces. The pictures of the latest years show the spheres of life in which the country has made the biggest progress and can be proud of.

The Days of Belarusian Culture in TajikistanThe mobile exposition is part of BelTA’s namesake photo project developed to show the scale of changes that took place in the country over a relatively short period of time. The project includes the website http://bylostalo.belta.by/ru/, a visual analogue of the photo expo.
