MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – We can increase the level of cultural events through tenders for event management services, Belarus’ Culture Minister Yuri Bondar told BelTA.

“In its work the Belarusian Culture Ministry is guided by the current legislation in part of the purchase of event management services. We hope that this will encourage competition among potential organizers of large-scale international events and contribute to specialists’ professional growth,” the minister believes.

Holding event management tenders is a new practice for the ministry. This year the ministry has announced, for the first time, the tenders for holding the International Theater Forum TEART, Minsk International Film Festival Listapad, Kupalye festival (Alexandria Gathers Friends), ceremony to honor patrons of culture of Belarus.

Yuri Bondar pointed out that there are no reasons to dramatize the situation, to make noise in mass media over it. “It it not about that for example, Art Corporation, the host of the Listapad film festival, does it poorly. It is about the compliance with the legal procedures established in Belarus”, said the minister.
