Calenda: Quality of Belarusian products needs to be advertised all over the world

Calenda: Quality of Belarusian products needs to be advertised all over the worldMILAN, 9 September (BelTA) - Quality of Belarusian products needs to be advertised all over the world, Italy Deputy Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda said when visiting together with Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov the Belarusian National Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan, BelTA has learned.

Carlo Calenda first of all tasted drinks. Most of all he liked the taste of Belarusian birch juice and kvass. He inquired about the useful properties of these drinks. Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy noted that birch juice is gaining popularity around the world as a healthy food. "In terms of useful properties, it outstrips even coconut milk," said Mikhail Rusy.

On the proposal of Andrei Kobyakov Carlo Calenda also tasted meat delicacies made in Belarus and also potato pancakes. “I am impressed with the quality of meat products. These products are in no way inferior to the Italian ones, which are known all over the world. After this tasting you would want to have breakfast in the Belarusian Pavilion rather than the Italian one,” Carlo Calenda joked.

Continuing a tour of Belarusian Pavilion, Carlo Calenda and Andrei Kobyakov got familiar with a multimedia presentation of the country.

The Belarusian government delegation is in Italy on a visit on 9-10 September. On the first day of the visit, Andrei Kobyakov attended the Belarus National Day at Expo 2015. The Prime Minister is expected to participate in the panel discussion "Belarus: European partner -Eurasian market." Tomorrow, the Belarusian delegation will visit several companies and hold a number of meetings in Piedmont, the second largest region in Italy.

EXPO, also known as the Universal Exposition, is the biggest international platform to demonstrate technical and technological solutions. It was held in 1851 for the first time. Every country showcases its culture, traditions and achievements in technology, innovations, and tourism.
