Buzovsky against thoughtless copying of foreign education patterns

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Buzovsky is against thoughtless and uncritical copying of foreign education practices and patterns. He made a relevant statement before the final meeting of the board of the Belarusian Education Ministry on 17 February, BelTA has learned.

Igor Buzovsky pointed out that the country has chosen its strategy aimed at the development of statehood and sovereignty, including with respect to the system of education.

Buzovsky against thoughtless copying of foreign education patternsTargeted efforts are made in Belarus to preserve the best education practices, the official noted. At the same time, he reiterated the call of the head of state for making the Belarusian education system more vibrant and dynamic. Besides, Igor Buzovsky stressed the importance of training specialists able to adequately address present-day challenges. He believes that some revolutionary approaches may be needed for this.

In his words, there is a need for an integrated approach to education for bringing up not just an educated person, but an individual, a citizen.
