Belarusian information minister encourages reporters to work towards consolidated society

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Reporters should work towards consolidating the society, BelTA learned from Belarusian Information Minister Alexander Karlyukevich during the opening ceremony of the 22nd international expo Mass Media in Belarus on 3 May.

“The modern spectrum of mass media paints a broad picture of the world,” said the Belarusian information minister. In his words, the information spread by mass media has to objectively and seriously represent the reality. “So that, as we tell the story of the modern times, we all would work towards consolidating our society, our country and would be ready for a constructive dialogue,” stressed Alexander Karlyukevich. He mentioned that not only Belarusian mass media are broadly represented during the expo. Multiple guests from various countries have come to participate in the forum. The Mass Media in Belarus expo is a good venue for exchanging opinions.

In turn, Vice Governor of Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Irina Sokolova said she was confident that the expo would allow getting to know each other better and would contribute to stronger Belarusian-Russian ties.

During the opening ceremony Director General of the Azerbaijani news agency Trend Ilgar Guseinov praised high professional standards of the news reporting industry in Belarus. In his opinion, the patriotic attitude towards one’s profession is important.
