MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – China views Belarus as an important partner in the joint Belt and Road initiative, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in his response message to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA learned from the Belarus President Administration.

“I would like to express my gratitude for you greetings related to the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China and my reelection for the post of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. I attach great attention to the development of the Chinese-Belarusian relations,” Xi Jinping noted.

The Chinese leader emphasized that in September 2016 China and Belarus created the relations of trust-based all-round strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, which opened a new page in the development of bilateral relations. “We support each other in the matters related to our vital interests. We can see positive tendencies of pragmatic cooperation in various spheres between China and Belarus. China views Belarus as an important partner in the joint Belt and Road initiative,” he said.

“I am ready to join you in the efforts for comprehensive development of our bilateral relations,” the Chinese leader said.
