Belarus to provide all-round support to Xi Jinping’s Silk Road Economic Belt project

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) - Belarus will provide all-round support to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Silk Road Economic Belt project, head of the Belarus President’s Administration Alexander Kosinets said at the event held on 4 June to mark the successful state visit of Chinese leader Xi Jinping to Minsk, BelTA informs.

Alexander Kosinets stressed that Belarus is China’s reliable partner in the implementation of this strategically important project.

The head of the President’s Administration noted that Belarus and China have been enjoying the relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership which entered a new level after the visit. According to Alexander Kosinets, the visit of the Chinese leader to Minsk demonstrated the importance of Belarus-China cooperation.

The fact that the two countries intend to further strengthen economic cooperation is proved by the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park that was visited by Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping. Not least important was the participation of the two leaders in the Belarusian-Chinese interregional business forum. It demonstrated the need for further development in the area.

Alexander Kosinets viewed the high-level visit as symbolic. The visit took place during the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory in Belarus. The head of the Belarus President’s Administration expressed confidence that the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation would continue its successful development.
