Belarus to continue comprehensive dialogue with UNIDO

VIENNA, 28 November (BelTA) - Belarus will continue deepening the dialogue with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in every area of cooperation, Belarus’ Ambassador to Austria, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the international organizations in Vienna Alena Kupchyna told BelTA.

“We plan to use the organization's current session to promote Belarusian priorities in the UNIDO activity and to continue deepening the dialogue with its leadership in every area of cooperation. The promising areas of cooperation include the ensuring of environmental security of industrial development, energy efficiency, interests of the middle-income countries. We hope that our cooperation with UNIDO will get an additional impetus,” Alena Kupchyna said.

Vienna is hosting the 17th session of the UNIDO General Conference from 27 November to 1 December. According to the ambassador, the participants of the session are taking stock of the UNIDO performance in the past two years, defining the main areas of its program activity and assessing the efficiency of its cooperation with the governments of the member states, the organizations of the UN system and other international structures.
