Belarus-Russia union’s results now more tangible

Belarus-Russia union’s results now more tangible

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – Results of the project to build the Union State of Belarus and Russia are now more tangible. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov made the statement at a press conference on 9 June, BelTA has learned.

“Results of the union construction have become considerably more tangible. The dynamics of trade and economic relations is on the rise. A coordinated foreign policy is pursued. Defense and security efforts are coordinated. Interregional ties grow stronger,” said the Ambassador of Russia.

The Ambassador said he believes that further invigoration of Belarusian-Russian interaction and the acceleration of mutually beneficial integration projects serve interests of the two nations. “Achievements in interaction between Belarusian and Russian regions invoke considerable interest in this kind of cooperation across the entire post-Soviet space,” noted the diplomat.

Alexander Surikov pointed out that only coordinated actions of Belarus and Russia to develop the industrial sector and agriculture, to encourage ties between private businesses, manufacturing cooperation and joint projects had been able to soften the blow to the economy of the two countries.
