Belarus-Russia relations hailed as mutually beneficial, friendly

MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – The relations between Belarus and Russia are open, mutually beneficial and friendly, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the meeting with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin on 2 December, BelTA has learned.

“I am glad to welcome you in the Republic of Belarus. It is very important for us that you paid your first state visit to Belarus. This confirms that our relations are open, mutually beneficial and friendly. You could feel it during your meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko where it was noted that at all times and especially now, in a difficult period of hybrid aggression from the West, we meet to discuss problems and plans,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The speaker noted that a hybrid war was unleashed not only against Belarus, but also against Russia. This warfare uses a whole range of tactics, including lies, disinformation, manipulation of facts and events. “It didn’t work out last year, so now opponents are resorting to new methods. They accuse Belarus of bringing the migrants here to achieve a specific goal. But this is absolutely not true. People are fleeing the war, and we are trying to help them. But we see how Western politicians are using the situation in their own interests – to build up their military presence on the border. Therefore, it is important that today we stand together in international organizations - PACE and OSCE. I would like to thank you for your help to Belarus. I want to recall that the recent meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly saw an attempt to push through an anti-Belarusian resolution, but thanks to your delegation and our active work, this resolution fell through. This confirms once again that we are strong together,” he added.
