Belarus, Romania strengthen cooperation in education

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Romania have been actively strengthening cooperation in education, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich told BelTA.

“The relations with Romania are productive in general. Cooperation in culture and education plays a big role. Over the past year contacts have been establishing between nearly 20 Romanian and over 30 Belarusian universities,” said Andrei Grinkevich.

In his words, in September several Belarusian universities, including the Belarusian National Technical University and MITSO University, concluded memorandums of cooperation with the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. Cooperation was also established between the institutions of higher education of Belarus and Transilvania University. Rectors of the Belarusian and Romanian universities are expected to exchange visits in the near future.

“Cooperation envisages the training of students, the implementation of joint scientific projects, the participation in international conferences and lecturing,” the diplomat said.

The sides are determined to establish cooperation between colleges and schools as well. “It will promote the development and strengthening of ties, cooperation and friendship between our people. The youth is our future, and cooperation in this area is of great importance,” he stressed.
