Belarus ready to contribute to Nagorny Karabakh resolution

MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to make its own contribution to the resolution of the situation around Nagorny Karabakh. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the statement at a press conference in Moscow on 8 April, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei underlined that Belarus has always upheld the view that any conflict should be resolved at a negotiating table instead of a battlefield. The official said he believes that while dealing with any conflicts one should be guided by sincere intentions towards securing the wellbeing and peaceful life of people.

The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined: “The Armenian and Azerbaijani nations are our brothers.” He said that Belarus’ leadership keeps in touch with the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides due to the deteriorated situation in Nagorny Karabakh. “Our stance is absolutely understandable and transparent: we would like to see this conflict resolved by peaceful means,” said Vladimir Makei.
