Belarus president describes use of information technologies by extremists as global challenge

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – The use of information technologies by extremists is a dangerous challenge for the mankind. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact in his welcome address to participants of the international conference on preventing and fighting terrorism in the digital age. The welcome address was read out by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Stanislav Zas during the opening ceremony, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko believes that the use of information technologies and means of communications by extremists all over the world represents one of the most dangerous challenges, which undermine the steady development of the entire humankind.

The welcome address underscores that this challenge can be successfully opposed only through coordinated partnership at the national, regional, and global levels.

Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that constructive and motivated exchange of opinions will allow working out common approaches and bringing nearer effective solutions to the problem of terrorism.
