Belarus president declares 2016 year of farming standards

KAMENETS DISTRICT, 28 August (BelTA) – The year 2016 will be the year of farming standards. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he visited the Ryasna division of the agricultural company OAO Belovezhsky on 28 August, BelTA has learned.

Land amelioration, discipline, and human resources will be in focus. Speaking about human resources, the head of state underlined: “Good results cannot be secured without human resources regardless of how much money we spend. This is why the management structure has to be drastically remodeled.”

Belarus president declares 2016 year of farming standardsDuring the tour of the Ryasna enterprise Alexander Lukashenko was informed about the completion of the grain harvesting and forage harvesting campaign in Belarus. Corn harvesting was mentioned among other things. Alexander Lukashenko gave instructions to harvest maize for forage purposes where it is more advisable than grain maize harvesting. “It is the way things should be done across the country, there is no need to put pressure on anyone, they are free to make up their own minds but this approach should be recommended,” said the head of state. The President also gave instructions to work out a rape crop farming strategy that will encourage fitting agricultural enterprises to grow rape crop.

Belarus president declares 2016 year of farming standardsOn 28 August the head of state was made familiar with the fulfillment of his instructions regarding the improvement of farming standards at dairy farms, which were previously owned by the agricultural enterprise Sovetskaya Belorussiya to be later handed over to the agricultural company OAO Belovezhsky. In particular, the President visited the dairy farm Oberovshchina where results of the farm’s retooling project were presented. Alexander Lukashenko was also made familiar with the technology the retooled farm uses to make high-quality milk. The President also visited the agricultural machines depot of OAO Belovezhsky’s Ryasna division where he was informed about what is being done to effectively run the modern machine and tractor fleet.
