MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – The most favorable conditions in Europe for doing business with Chinese partners and implementing joint projects have been made available in Belarus. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Zhang Gaoli, Vice Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on 26 September, BelTA has learned.
The head of state remarked that a number of economic projects have been accomplished in Belarus with assistance of Chinese companies. He mentioned in particular the modernization of the power grid and the cement industry and the electrification of railways. Work in the power engineering industry, the road construction industry, the timber industry, and the pulp and paper industry continues.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarusian-Chinese investment projects are being implemented. The two largest ones are the construction of the China-Belarus Industrial Park and car production with assistance of the Chinese company Geely.
“For the sake of successful implementation of the mentioned projects the Belarusian side has enabled the most favorable conditions for doing business in the European space,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko. “This is why we count on vigorous investment efforts from the Chinese side. Moreover, the construction of the China-Belarus Industrial Park has been approved by China President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang”.
