Belarus maintains diplomatic presence in Israel on reciprocal basis

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Belarus maintains its diplomatic presence in Israel on a reciprocal basis, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a briefing, BelTA has learned.

“After considering the note received through diplomatic channels containing the decision of the Prime Minister of the State of Israel to maintain the Israeli diplomatic mission in Belarus in the same format as before, the Belarusian side decided to keep its diplomatic presence in Israel,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

“We believe that maintaining the relations between Belarus and Israel at the level of embassies is an objective need stemming from the close links between dozens of thousands of people for whom Israel and Belarus are dear and native countries, and in general from the positive advances in the bilateral relations in different fields,” he added.

Dmitry Mironchik also emphasized that the Belarusian side remains firmly committed to the principle of reciprocity.
