Belarus hopes to bring strategic cooperation with India to higher level

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) - Belarus hopes to bring the trust-based strategic cooperation with India to a higher level, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov said before the Belarusian-Indian conference.

“Belarus-India relations are based on trust. We have no problems in terms of politics at all. We support each other in the international arena. Leaders of the two countries have very good personal relations. Last year Belarus welcomed the Indian President on the historic visit that gave an impetus to the development of our bilateral relations, raised them onto a new level. I hope we will reach even a higher level of trust-based strategic interaction,” Valentin Rybakov said.

According to him, quite a lot of Indian businessmen accompany the political delegation in Minsk. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus held political consultations between the two ministries. We discussed a wide range of issues relating to political interaction between Belarus and India, trade and economic ties, investment, cooperation in culture and tourism. We also discussed the interaction on the international arena - in the UN and other organizations,” Valentin Rybakov said.

The deputy minister expressed confidence that the business conference will create new opportunities for promoting contacts between businessmen of the two countries. “For the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the main topic that we discussed was the preparation of the official visit of the Belarusian President to India next year. The date will be agreed,” he said.
