MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) -  The interests of the younger generation are in the focus of the state policy in Belarus, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in a video message to mark International Children's Day. The video message was posted on the ministry’s Facebook page, BelTA has learned.

“Children are the greatest value of every person, every family, every country. The Declaration of the Rights of the Child says that mankind is obliged to give children the best that it has. Belarus strictly follows this principle, so the interests of the younger generation are in the focus of our state policy. We are glad that in this work we can always count on the support of our reliable partner, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF),” the minister said.

Vladimir Makei wished everyone strong health, kindness and peace, and happy childhood to all the kids. “I wish you to be always surrounded by the care and love of adults, to grow up in a safe and prosperous environment, to always love your country and care for it. I wish the adults to be proud of their children and grandchildren, to always understand and support them,” he said.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also launched the Children's Day campaign and invited everyone to post photos from their childhood with a short story about their childhood dreams under a single hashtag #Razamzdzetsmi. The ministry has also offered to make a charitable donation to organizations providing assistance to children. “Let us remember our childhood dreams and think about those kids who need our help and support so much,” the ministry said. The ministry’s employees and those of the Belarusian embassies abroad have already actively supported the idea.
