MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has received numerous invitations to make official foreign visits, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov told Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian foreign minister himself has recently undertaken several overseas trips, including his participation in the BRICS summit in Brazil, a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers in China, and also visits to Thailand and Laos. The minister was asked whether these trips signaled preparations for high-level state visits.

“There is an element of confidentiality in our relations with partners, but believe me, the number of invitations is substantial, including those coming from Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Let’s take the recent visit to Laos, which is eager to welcome our president on a visit,” Maksim Ryzhenkov said. “Many countries are keen to visit us, too. It is safe to say that more than half the world has extended invitations. We prioritize destinations that hold the most potential for advancing our bilateral relations.”
