Belarus emphasizes importance of ending conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible

MOSCOW, 10 June (BelTA) – It is important for Belarus to end the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov made the relevant statement as he met with MGIMO University students in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

Maxim Ryzhenkov said: “The conflict in Ukraine. For us, for Belarus it is important to get this conflict resolved. The sooner the better.”

He remarked that as far as mentality is concerned, Russians and Ukrainians are the most kindred nations for Belarusians. “This is why we understand the nature of all these things. Like nobody else we understand that this action is totally against Slavs, against the orthodox church to a certain degree, and against the mentality from the point of view of this fabrication, due to which all of it is going on in Ukraine today. And this fabrication came from the collective West,” the official explained.

He reminded that Russia had presented clear proposals to Ukraine. If the latter had agreed to them, the war would have been over by now.
