Belarus’ business development infrastructure praised as full-fledged

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – A full-fledged infrastructure to support and develop entrepreneurship has been formed in Belarus, Viktor Lemeshevsky, a member of the Business Promotion Council, Director of the PAK-Upravleniye company noted at a meeting between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and representatives of the business community on 22 December, BelTA has learned.

“In our opinion, the access to cheap long-term financing, positive changes in the legal environment, the preferential tax treatment have formed a full-fledged infrastructure to support and develop entrepreneurship in Belarus. This infrastructure complies with the best international practices and ensures Belarus’ competitiveness on the global market,” Viktor Lemeshevsky stated.

According to the businessman, his company is carrying out several large projects, including the one to construct a new battery factory in the FEZ Brest. PAK-Upravleniye also plans to build there a plant to produce traction and industrial batteries for material handling equipment and no-break power supply. Around $80 million will be invested in the company by 2020. The share of local raw material will make up at least 90%.

“These projects would be impossible without the existing instruments to support innovative business offered by the government,” Viktor Lemeshevsky added.
