Belarus, Bulgaria to tap new growth points to bolster economic ties

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Bulgaria intend to identify new growth points to bolster economic cooperation, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko said at the 7th session of the Belarusian-Bulgarian intergovernmental commission on cooperation in trade, economy and science held in Minsk on 9 November, BelTA has learned.

The deputy minister stressed that there is a great potential to build up the cooperation between the two countries. He suggested that Belarus, as a member of the EAEU and Bulgaria as a member of the EU, should use the existing integration experience to develop more effective two-way communication.

New mutually beneficial areas for cooperation can be outlined during the Belarusian-Bulgarian Business Forum due in Minsk soon, said Oleg Kravchenko.

Commission co-chairman, Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Aleksandar Manolev noted that the decisions adopted during the current meeting should contribute towards enhancing bilateral contacts. He emphasized the need for greater collaboration at the level of twin towns and partners of Belarus and Bulgaria. Bulgaria, he said, attaches great importance to the development of cooperation in areas such as agriculture, energy, science and tourism.
