Belarus and Europe open new page in relations, Thierry Mariani says

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) - Belarus is starting on a new modern stage in its development, member of the French National Assembly, Vice Presidentof the France-Belarus Friendship Group Thierry Mariani, who was present at the Belarus President inauguration ceremony, told BelTA.

In his view, Belarus and Europe are opening a new page opens in their relations. "Positive changes that have taken place lately in your country are noticeable," the French MP said.

He welcomed Belarus’ contribution to the peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis. "The Minsk agreement became known throughout the world. Belarus and Alexander Lukashenko have made significant contribution to the security in the region. It is today obvious and noticeable in Europe,” said Thierry Mariani. Alexander Lukashenko demonstrated Belarus’ capabilities as a serious constructive mediator between major international players. In my opinion, these are the most important changes that have taken place recently in Belarus, he noted.
