Belarus, Africa share goals of peace, development, better living standards

MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) -  Belarus and African countries share the same goals of peace, economic development and better living standards, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Chairman of the Pan-African Parliament Fortune Charumbira via a video conference, BelTA has learned.

“In general, the goals that Belarus and African countries have are largely the same. They are peace, economic development, improvement of living standards and, eventually, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Belarusians are peaceful people with warm hearts. We are candid, sincere and, most importantly, we always keep our word,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

The parties are set to discuss the interaction between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Pan-African Parliament, the issue of obtaining the observer status in the Pan-African Parliament, the prospects of establishing a delegation in the National Assembly of Belarus for interaction with the Pan-African Parliament, as well as mutual support and possible joint initiatives as part of inter-parliamentary organizations, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Network of Non-Aligned Movement, the CIS IPA.

Belarus prioritizes the development of political dialogue, the enhancement of trade, economic and humanitarian relations with the countries of the entire African continent.
