Belagro expo seen as opportunity to take closer look at cooperation prospects

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – The international agricultural expo Belagro 2017 is a good opportunity to draw conclusions about the prospects for cooperation with partners, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov noted during the Belagro 2017 official opening ceremony on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“For us, it is crucial to showcase our new products and learn what is offered by our partners, friends, and business competitors to draw proper conclusions about further cooperation. I believe this expo will remain popular in the future and will become a perfect venue for the visitors to compare notes and work out the ways to further expand their economic activity and make it more effective,” Andrei Kobyakov said.

According to the prime minister, the Belagro expo traditionally brings together the leaders of the Belarusian, CIS, and non-CIS agricultural industry. “Attending the expo this year are representatives of over 500 companies from 25 countries,” Andrei Kobyakov remarked. He welcomed the Moldovan delegation headed by Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip.

Andrei Kobyakov also pointed out that Belarus is among the world’s top five largest exporters of dairy products. “This position requires many efforts. In order to maintain and strengthen this position we need to work hard, keep up with scientific progress and stay ahead of the competition from our partners nationwide and worldwide,” the prime minister underlined.
