Beijing mayor praises Belarus’ contribution to peace

MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – Belarus has made a large contribution to preserving peace, BelTA learned from Beijing Mayor Wang Anshun. The Mayor was present during the army parade held in Minsk on 9 May to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory.

“The celebration of the 70th anniversary since the day of the victory is a touching holiday. During the war Belarus lost a lot and made a large contribution to the preservation of peace on earth,” stressed Wang Anshun.

“We should remember history and treasure peace,” he added.

A Beijing delegation led by the city’s mayor took part in the festivities held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Minsk. Wang Anshun drew attention to the high spirits in streets of the Belarusian capital these days. Many of the Chinese guests have been to Minsk more than once. They also mentioned a lot of positive changes in the city such as the active development of Minsk and better living standards.
