Azerbaijan eager to continue all-round cooperation with Belarus

BAKU, 28 November (BelTA) – Azerbaijan is eager to continue productive cooperation with Belarus in all avenues, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said during the one-on-one official talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Baku on 28 November, BelTA has learned.

The event takes place in the residence of the Azerbaijan President Zagulba.

“We have regular meetings. It means that the relations between our states are very close and friendly,” Ilham Aliyev said. “We are eager to continue productive cooperation with Belarus in all avenues. Today the bilateral format encompasses virtually all spheres of life; we are building up cooperation in traditional fields. We also determine new areas of focus.”

The President of Azerbaijan emphasized that over the recent years the countries have solved many issues in bilateral cooperation. “We are friends, partners. We have always supported and support each other in all issues,” he said. “I am convinced that the today’s visit will give a new impetus to the development of our cooperation.”

The talks were preceded by the ceremony of official welcome for Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on behalf of Ilham Aliyev. The two leaders listened to the national anthems and were welcomed by the guards of honor. After that they began the one-on-one talks. Later they will have extended negotiations.
