Andreichenko: Children’s charity campaign means to show that every child matters

DOKSHITSY DISTRICT, 28 December (BelTA) – The Our Children charity campaign re-focuses attention to the kids who are in a difficult life situation and emphasizes that every child is important, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he visited Begoml boarding school for orphans and children deprived of parental care in Dokshitsy District, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Andreichenko has been visiting this school during the holiday season every year for the past ten years. “I am happy that the tradition continues and I am happy to have this opportunity. Thanks to the campaign, we, adults, have a chance to revisit our childhood,” the speaker said.

Vladimir Andreichenko emphasized that all, regardless of their background, should have a happy childhood. Therefore, it is very important that in these days during the holiday season high-level government officials and local authorities visit orphanages, hospitals and schools to wish children a Happy New Year and give them gifts. “But care and attention are much more important for such children. In this context, the Our Children charity campaign plays a huge role. It highlights that every child is important. It shines spotlight on the children in difficult situations, provides an additional opportunity to help them so that they could believe in good and their future,” the chairman of the House of Representatives said. He wished the children strong health, good mood, happiness, fulfillment of their wishes, self-confidence and strength.

Speaking to the media, Vladimir Andreichenko mentioned the main results of the outgoing year. “A lot has been done to secure economic growth in the country, increase household incomes, and ensure stability. Above all, Belarus has considerably strengthened its authority in the international arena,” the speaker said. He expressed hope that the coming year will be even better.

The guests addressed the warmest words of gratitude to the staff of the Begoml school. “Thank you very much for the warmth of your hearts, which you share with your students. Many of them often turn to you, their mentors, for advice or support. With care and attention, you positively influence the lives of these children,” said Chairman of the Dokshitsy District Executive Committee Oleg Pinchuk.

Children received sweet Christmas gifts and presented a New Year performance.

The Our Children charity campaign kicked off in Belarus on 10 December 2018 to wrap up on 11 January 2019. Heads of government bodies and company chiefs, leaders of public associations visit children’s facilities to offer various gifts. Orphans, children from big families and foster families, and children with special needs are in the focus of this campaign.
