Ananich: Belarus preserves, develops experience of previous generations

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Belarus preserves and develops the experience accumulated by previous generations for the good of the society, Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich said as she visited the Belarusian knitwear manufacturer Alesya, BelTA has learned.

The minister emphasized that the Belarusian nation has always aspired to use the experience accumulated by previous generations. This principle is among the ones forming the basis of Belarus’ national policy. “We do not reject anything. We take all the best, preserve and develop it for the good of people and society,” Lilia Ananich remarked. This was what Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko focused on at the solemn meeting timed to Belarus’ Independence Day, she noted.

The same approach has been adopted in industrial manufacturing, the minister said. She cited Alesya as an example. The company has managed to endure despite all the difficulties and now keeps developing and updating its infrastructure.

Lilia Ananich got familiar with the company’s manufacturing process and the range of products. The minister voiced an opinion that the enterprise should promote its brand more actively. It can be just as popular among the younger generation as it is among the older one. Lilia Ananich noted that Alesya understands the importance of this goal. The company has sufficient economic and human resources to reach it.

When speaking with Alesya’s employees, the minister specified the main aspects of Belarus’ social and cultural policy. According to her, the government pays great attention to traditional art, national cinema, theater, and other fields. Over Br420 million a year is disbursed to promote culture in Belarus. The government is implementing a relevant national program.

2016 was announced the Year of Culture in Belarus. 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing. Lilia Ananich stressed that interest in national traditions has been reviving in the society. She underlined the need to preserve national identity amid globalization.

Alesya is a knitwear manufacturer affiliated with the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom. It employs some 250 people. The company mainly produces knitted outwear for men and women. It develops nearly 120 new models every year.
