Ambassador: Vietnam and Belarus have good prospects for bolstering economic ties

GOMEL, 21 October (BelTA) - Vietnam and Belarus have good prospects for bolstering mutually beneficial trade and economic ties, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus Le Anh told BelTA. The Vietnamese Ambassador is taking part in the international business event Business Days in Gomel.

According to the Ambassador, to develop these relationships, we need to encourage the business community to take part in trade fairs that take place in the two countries. This will help us learn more about each other's capabilities, the diplomat said. The Vietnamese Embassy staff prepared an exposition of domestic goods for demonstration at the fair-exhibition "Business in the Regions" which is traditionally held during these days in Gomel. It features tea, coffee, seafood, and other products of the food and other industries.

The exhibition offers the products of very high quality which should be of interest to local businessmen, the diplomat noted. In turn, Vietnam is interested in buying Belarus dairy and confectionery products. "Implementation of the projects to set up the Belarusian-Vietnamese manufactures in the field of agricultural machinery and automotive industries will be an important area of the joint work. I am convinced that with the signing of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, the Belarusian-Vietnamese relations have gained new possibilities for more effective development,” he stated.

Gomel is hosting the international business event Business Days in Gomel on 21-22 October. Attending are more than 20 delegations from 11 countries. The new format of communication of the business community and diplomats accredited in our country has been supported by representatives of Brazil, China, France, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and other countries. The Business Days in Gomel will discuss the topical issues of foreign trade.
