Ambassador: Russia and Belarus stand together

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Russia and Belarus stand together, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev told the media after his meeting with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 10 September, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat called the recent talks between Prime Ministers of the two countries Roman Golovchenko and Mikhail Mishustin, members of the governments in Minsk as very successful. “This testifies to extensive bilateral economic relations. This once again proves that Russia and Belarus stand together,” the Russian ambassador said.

“We are waiting for the meeting of the two heads of state, Vladimir Putin and Aleksandr Lukashenko, in the near future, which will also confirm the practice of relations, which, we very much want to believe, are shared by millions of people,” the diplomat said.

Dmitry Mezentsev added: “Russia at any level, be it the relations of ordinary people who are not involved in the political process, or the regional, federal level, has always treated the people of Belarus as a brotherly nation and Belarus as a brotherly country. It has always been so, and it will remain so.”
