Ambassador: Belarus, China develop equal, mutually beneficial cooperation

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China have been steadily developing equal and mutually beneficial cooperation, China’s Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming said at a function held on 16 September to mark the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, BelTA has learned.

“Over the past 70 years, China's power has increased and the living standards of its people have improved significantly. The country’s international influence is constantly expanding. China's development has reached great heights, which has attracted the attention of the entire international community. China is ready to share its development experience with the rest of the world through the joint implementation of the Belt and Road initiative,” said the head of the diplomatic mission.

According to Cui Qiming, China and Belarus learn from each other, support each other and assist in the development and construction of their countries. “Under the management and with personal attention of China President Xi Jinping and Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko bilateral relations remain at a high and stable level and are currently best ever,” the ambassador stressed. 

In his words, according to Belarus’ statistics, in H1 2019 the trade between China and Belarus soared 76.3% from the same period a year ago. 

In turn, Chairman of the Standing Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives Valery Voronetsky said that the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation becomes stronger with every new year.
