Ambassador: Belarus-Azerbaijan trade over $500m in 2018

BAKU, 30 April (BelTA – Trend) - The trade between Belarus and Azerbaijan exceeded $500 million in 2018, Belarus Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich said.

According to him, many promising projects are in the pipeline. The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus has been developing rapidly in all areas. For example, the ambassador mentioned a joint Belarus-Azerbaijan enterprise to assemble agricultural machinery in Turkey’s Kirikkale city. There are other major joint projects that the parties intend to implement soon.

The countries have reached a new level of cooperation as they implement various promising projects involving third countries in trade and economic cooperation. According to the diplomat, bilateral cooperation is gaining momentum not only in trade but also in science, education, culture, sports and other areas.

The ambassador emphasized the high level of bilateral relations and cited the statements that the presidents of two countries made during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Belarus. The presidents view the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus as exemplary for two sovereign, independent countries.
