Advances in development of Belarus-Russia single humanitarian space lauded

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have made considerable progress in creating a single humanitarian space, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the plenary session of the 3rd Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus and Russia have made great progress in creating a single humanitarian space, harmonizing national laws. We have laid down the social foundation of the Union State. The issues of education, healthcare, employment, pay, working hours and other labor issues are addressed,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

“However, there are some differences in the legal regimes. Practical implementation of the documents we adopt is not always ensured. We need to continue to approximate the laws of our states in the social and humanitarian sphere,” the Chairman of the Council of the Republic said.

More than 150 agreements and commercial contracts were signed in the run-up and during the forum. “We have the result, the solutions. We have developed approaches to deepen cooperation. The Federation Council and the Council of the Republic will ensure the control over the execution of decisions,” Mikhail Myasnikovich added.
