Zhuk: Media representatives from 9 countries accredited at Slavianzki Bazaar 2026

Zhuk: Media representatives from 9 countries accredited at Slavianzki Bazaar 2026

VITEBSK, 16 July (BelTA) – The blogging community has been expanding rapidly in recent years, and the youngest blogger at Slavianski Bazaar 2026 is just 8 years old, Belarusian Information Minister Dmitry Zhuk said at the opening of the International Press Center of the 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA has learned.

The information minister noted that this was not his first time attending the festival, having first arrived here as a journalist back in 2000. In 2026, following an established tradition, the events of Slavianski Bazaar will be covered not only by leading national, foreign, and regional media outlets but also by representatives of the blogosphere. “The blogging community is expanding,” he said. “They have huge audiences and they put their hearts into it. The youngest among them is just eight years old – try keeping up with her! It’s wonderful to see the festival sparking interest among everyone.”

Dmitry Zhuk pointed out that journalists at the Vitebsk arts forum have a major task ahead of them. “We are responsible for the lasting impression left by this wonderful festival. If an event isn’t covered by the press, it simply doesn’t exist in public life. As a result, no memories of it will survive. It’s an immense responsibility in our line of work. Do your job honestly and with passion, making it incredibly exciting for our audience, listeners, and readers to follow the festival,” he stressed.

Following the opening of the press center, Dmitry Zhuk told journalists that media representatives from nine countries have been accredited to the festival in 2026. “This includes over 80 people representing nearly 50 media outlets,” he noted, adding that Slavianski Bazaar will be covered in the languages of European and African nations, as well as partners from the CIS and SCO.

According to Dmitry Zhuk, the Ministry of Information monitors festival coverage across various media outlets practically in real time, adding that the management of Slavianski Bazaar has access to the exact same data.
