WTA: Sabalenka hits new career high

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka has reached a career-high ranking of No.2 in the WTA, BelTA has learned.

Last week the Belarusian number one was ranked 3rd in the WTA with 6,845 points. She climbed one spot up after the finish of the tournament in Cincinnati. Currently, Aryna Sabalenka goes second with 7,010 points, Victoria Azarenka is 19th with 3,160 points, Aliaksandra Sasnovich - 99th with 860 points, Olga Govortsova - 136th with 622 points. This week Aliaksandra Sasnovich will play at the 2021 Cleveland Championships.

In the ATP rankings Belarus’ Ilya Ivashka goes 63rd with 1,025 points, Egor Gerasimov is 81st with 910 points). Both Belarusian players will take part in the 2021 Winston-Salem Open this week.
