Vladimir Spivakov to open Year of Culture in Mogilev Oblast

MOGILEV, 16 February (BelTA) – The Hour of Bach program will officially open the Year of Culture in Mogilev Oblast on 18 February, BelTA learned from the ideology, culture and youth affairs department at the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee

The concert will feature the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia conducted by People's Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov and also soloist of the Novaya Opera Theater Anastasia Belukova, violinist Timur Pirverdiyev, pianist Zoya Abolits and violinist of the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra Dmitry Prokofiev. The Hour of Bach is part of the 4th edition of the International Festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites. Its main events will take place in Minsk on 6-21 February.

This is the fourth time that Vladimir Spivakov has included the city of Mogilev into his tour schedule. Last time he presented The Hour of Chaplin. This time Vladimir Spivakov will play solo in the Hour of Bach program. Cantatas and masses of the German genius of the 18th century will be accompanied by two violins, cello and harpsichord; arias will be sung in German.

This year Mogilev Oblast plans to arrange about 150 various events. Such iconic festivals as Kupalye (Alexandria Gathers Friends) and Youth Theater Forum M.@rt. contact have made part of the national schedule. Mogilev also plans to host the Third National Forum Museums of Belarus which will draw representative foreign delegations.
