MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) - The United States will become the central exhibitor of the 27th installment of the Minsk International Book Fair, Deputy Information Minister Igor Buzovsky told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“The Russian Federation will be the guest of honor and the United States will be the central exhibitor. Due to the fact that the United States was unable to participate as guest of honor last year due to the objective reasons, we will provide them with an opportunity, at their request, to implement the plans they prepared in 2019,” Igor Buzovsky said.

The deputy information minister expressed the confidence that these stands will attract the attention of visitors.

Russia’s exposition will cover 225 m2, Belarus’ national stand - 150 m2, and that of the United States – 100 m2, said Dmitry Makarov, the chairman of the council of the organizers of book fairs in the CIS, Director General of Makbel book selling company.

The 27th edition of the Minsk International Book Fair will take place in Minsk on 5-9 February. The event will feature meetings with authors, publishers, and artists, and also book presentations, roundtables, autograph sessions and master classes. More than 300 exhibitors from 30 countries will present their new products in Minsk. The fair is expected to draw about 60,000 visitors. The motto of this year's forum is “Belarus is an Open Book”.
