Turkey to host Days of Belarusian Culture from 30 October to 4 November

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Turkey will host the Days of Belarusian Culture from 30 October to 4 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

The State Dance Company of Belarus led by People’s Artist of Belarus Valentin Dudkevich will give concerts in the cities of Ankara and Eskisehir. The Belarusian news agency BelTA will present its photo exhibition Belarus Today that features 41 photos about different aspects of life in Belarus: landmark events in the relations between Belarus and Turkey and the country’s achievements in industry, defense and social sector.

The Culture Ministry noted that the relations between Belarus and Turkey are regulated by the agreement between the governments of the two countries on cooperation in education, science, culture and sports, and also by the protocol of cooperation in culture and art between the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. The countries are carrying out the 2015-2017 action plan to implement this protocol of cooperation.

Belarusian folk music bands and dance companies, such as the State Dance Company of Belarus, the folk dance company Chabarok and others, are frequent guests in Turkey.

Apart from that, the National History Museum of Belarus established ties with the Sakip Sabanci Museum of Istanbul in 2015. The Turkish museum dedicated to calligraphic art, religious and state documents has invited the National History Museum of Belarus to discuss the possibility of holding a joint exhibition project in 2018.
